TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Quran teacher training centers in Egypt will begin their activities again after a year of closure.

Egypt Awqaf Ministry

The country’s Awqaf Ministry announced that the centers, along with cultural centers across Egypt, will resume their work on December 1, Gate Ahram reported.

In a statement, the ministry highlighted the role of the centers in raising awareness, promoting moderate thought and rectifying erroneous beliefs.

The centers help to promote memorizing the Quran as well as learning its teachings and concepts, the statement said.

The ministry also said that those willing to take courses at the centers can register and pay the fees from Sunday to Thursday (November 21-25).

The Egyptian government closed the Quran teacher training centers last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Egypt has reported more than 347,000 coronavirus cases and over 19,700 people have died from the disease in the North African country so far.
